Winter Wonderland

I worked on my Winter Queen today and it sure did feel good to get the ole gal going again. I forget just how far along I am on her. Since I have changed the way that I do my beading (no longer leaving til the end) I went back and started doing that. I love seeing the whole design coming to life instead of just the floss part. This is the first time I have used my second stitching station since I set it up and I enjoyed it very much. It was nice to be able to be in the same room as Mike and he enjoys having me there as well. We found it difficult to interact when I am stitching in the living room and he is in the computer room. I am quite smitten with him so I love being able to be by his side. Now if I could just get him to surf online shops instead of all that techie stuff I would have it made! Due to the fact I can clearly see the monitor from my stitching chair!

PictureTrail is up and running!

Okay, will sort of. I am having some problems with my link in getting it to work properly. Computers and I just don't get along most of the time. There always has to be some sort of hiccup. I think I am getting closer to getting this resolved but am not totally certain. Will know as soon as I get a reply from my thread. I am very pleased with how it turned out. It was a tad bit time consuming getting pictures of everything and getting the whole thing together but now it will be very easy to maintain. Although my album looks a little bare; so I think I may be justified in starting some new projects. hehe.

Oooooooooooopalescent Belfast

I am in LOVE! I just received a yard of Opalescent Belfast and WOW is it every gorgeous! This is the first time I have been able to feast my eyes upon any opalescent Belfast. Now I keep thinking about my SMF stash and all the colors I have and thinking maybe I may need one of everything in opalescent LOL! I can see why everyone fancies the stuff. I already have a few designs in mind that I want to start just on this plain ole white opalescent Belfast. Such as, Giggles In The Snow, Crystal Christmas, Angel Proclamation, and Celestial Dragon just to name a few.

I do believe before I start a new project I am going to try gridding my fabric. Currently I am stitching Queen Of Freedom and I have made a few errors that I have had to fudge through. They are nothing no one would notice but they are such a pain to fudge through so that no one WILL notice. Hence, why gridding is looking especially appealing to me.

I am also going to ditch using the cheapo scroll rod frames that you can buy at Hobby Lobby. I seem to be bending the wingnuts something fierce and I have had some trouble with my rods popping out. I tend to lean on my project when I stitch so my stitching style does not seem very conducive to the less expensive frames.

I believe I am going to try out American Dream Products scroll rod frames. I am going to stay with the no baste system. My husband is going to give a go at trying to make me some as well.

Juggling it ALL

My three passions really have a tendency to conflict with each other. Stitching is obviously one passion, but so is reading, and the third is surfing the world wide web. Balancing these three things has become a real task. Managing the stitching and the surfing is a bit easier but when I put the reading in there that is when it starts to get much more difficult. Once I begin to read everything around me shuts down and all I want to do is read once I get started. It is easier for me to take a small break from my stitching to go surf the net but the reading I cannot seem to break away from. Once I get into a good book all I want to do is read. This of course has caused me to not do much reading as of late and I find myself dearly missing it.
I have tried to read in bed before I go to sleep but I find by the time I get to bed I am so tired that I can only read for a few short minutes and I am nodding off. That of course results in having to read again what I just read. Hmmm seems to me the simple answer is to not wait til I get so tired. Easier said then done, but I will give this a try.

Watergarden Whispers

This design calls out my name constantly. It sits right next to my stitching chair because I can't put it away. It is just too seductive! I truly fondle my kit every day. I pull out the chart, look it all over and then I go to the beads and the silks. I look at them I touch them and I just gaze at them like I am in sum kind of stooper. Tis pathetic really.
So why don't I start the darn thing? Because I really need to get the projects I currently have going completed. I really want to get my old projects finished up. They are nagging at me. So...when Watergarden whispers my name I shall play with it til my heart is once again content. LOL
